The Fall Line

A True-Crime Podcast

a true-crime serial podcast investigating under-reported and unsolved cases in the Southeast

In 2017, The Fall Line began as a long-form profile of the disappearance of Augusta, GA twins Jeannette and Dannette Millbrook. After their case was improperly closed in 1990, their sister, Shanta spent the next 23 years hoping for answers. When she became an adult, she began seeking them herself. When the case was finally reopened in 2013, her family hoped they might finally get answers—but things weren’t that simple.

This episode examines the events that occurred on the day of the disappearance of Augusta, GA twins Dannette and Jeannette Millbrook. Edits have been made based on new information gathered since recording.

In this episode, the concept of “hearsay”—and all of the rumors, gossip, and misinformation that have appeared in Jeannette and Dannette's case—are addressed. We go through the twins’ file, their removal from the NCMEC database, experiences at school, allegations of juvenile records and foster placement, and even current problems developing open lines of communication with law enforcement.

Episode 4: Theories, we sort through the plausible and possible, examine possible involvement by local offenders like Joseph Patrick Washington, discuss sex trafficking, and look at some of the more popular internet discussions concerning the case of Jeannette and Dannette Millbrook

In Episode 5: Damages, we reflect on the different kinds of trauma caused the loss of a child—or in this case, children Jeannette and Dannette Millbrook—especially when the family has no sense of closure. More details regarding the Aiken Doe are covered, as is one host’s meeting with Augusta DA Natalie Paine and the outcomes of that meeting.

This is the last "regular" episode of the season, but not the last we'll be releasing on the case of Dannette and Jeannette Millbrook.
